DUI Drivers Are A Threat To Everyone!

Two people were seriously injured early Thursday when a wrong-way driver collided head-on with a car on I-85. DeKalb police dispatchers received numerous calls starting around 2 a.m. of a car driving north in the southbound lanes of the interstate. The wrong-way driver, identified only as a 21-year-old man driving a Buick, collided head on with a Ford Focus driven by a 21-year-old woman north of Clairmont Road, police said.

Firefighters had to extricate the woman from her car, Channel 2 Action News reported. She was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition. The wrong-way driver sustained moderate injuries, police said. Police said they detected a strong odor of alcohol on him. All southbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours after the accident.
